DAAR Communications, the foremost independent broadcast organisation in Nigeria secured the services of the Broadcast Academy to deliver the modules on Live TV Direction, Live TV Commentary and TV Rights Marketing and Sponsorship.
The objective of the training was to pass on the best practices in the field of sports broadcasting, build a local pool of talent and to raise the standards of TV production in Africa. The international trainers worked with more than 150 participants to deliver specific training modules using DAAR Communications technical equipment and the Live Directing Simulator. The participants were operational immediately after the training and were able to apply the practical learnings to reflect a higher standard of production.
The Broadcast Academy is unique in its approach to training. The tailor-made training is relevant with the right amount of theory and hands on exercises, the coaches are TV experts working on the biggest and best international events and the training materials are not thick folders but practical concise tips designed from HBS’ vast experience of working in the sports broadcast industry. The success of the Broadcast Academy is in its philosophy of looking at an organisation as a whole and promoting the collaborative approach to production. A great sports production is the perfect example of team effort and, although individual skills are necessary, it is collaboration and team work that makes the difference.
