HOST BROADCAST SERVICES
Since 1999, Host Broadcast Services (HBS) offers expertise and experience in delivering images and sounds for some of the most prestigious sports events around the world. The organisation has always pushed to reduce the broadcasting footprint, allowing organisers and broadcasters to optimise and valorise both venue resources and media rights with flawless reliability. Starting over fifteen years ago, HBS has rapidly developed as a renowned host broadcast specialist.
HBS was originally established with the core mandate of being the Host Broadcaster (HB) for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™, a mission that included producing the multilateral coverage and providing unilateral production, transmission, commentary facilities and associated services for world broadcasters.
A truly international organisation, as is its parent company Infront Sports & Media, HBS is based in Switzerland but has its planning headquarters in France (Paris/Boulogne). The company has evolved since its formation and built upon its unique capabilities by attracting expert personnel from the top levels of the television industry to complement the experienced staff who have honed their skills over previous sports events, such as the FIFA World Cups™.
A job for specialists
Consistently, through each successive event, HBS has raised the bar of host broadcasting. Displaying its leadership, the organisation continues to design, build, install and manage International Broadcast Centres (IBCs), alongside multilateral and unilateral broadcast facilities at venues in the host country of an event. As host broadcaster of the 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 editions of the FIFA World Cup™, HBS has been responsible for the most watched sporting events on the planet and will continue to be with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
HBS also oversees all other FIFA events – including the FIFA Women’s World Cup, the FIFA U17 and U20 World Cups (both men and women), the FIFA Futsal World Cup and the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup – taking its expertise and experience to every corner of the globe. In addition, HBS has worked on a wide range of other events and sports, either as host broadcaster, in a consultancy role or as a service/facility provider. From running to motor racing, and from Asia to South America, the most recent projects include the French Football League, the Berlin Marathon, the Ironman and Ironman 70.3 series, the 7th Asian Winter Games Astana-Almaty (2011), the 28th SEA Games in Singapore (2015) and the 18th Asian Games Jakarta-Palembang (2018).
Constantly and on every continent, HBS delivers the highest possible standard of television and radio coverage in challenging environments, producing independent, innovative and reliable host broadcasting services for event organisers, rights holders and, through them, the global viewers.
